FFVII Rebirth: Cloud Plays 'Happy Birthday' for Final Fantasy VII Anniversary

 


To celebrate the 27th Anniversary of Final Fantasy VII, Square Enix has treated fans to a new clip from FFVII Rebirth. The footage showcases the piano mini-game, featuring Cloud playing a rendition of "Happy Birthday." The clip highlights the free play function, allowing players to perform any song using the piano mini-game's inputs.

Originally released on January 31, 1997, in Japan on the PlayStation, Final Fantasy VII has achieved global success with over 13.9 million copies sold. The game has expanded into various spin-offs and sequels within the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, such as Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII G-Bike, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, and Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis.



The FFVII Remake, launched in 2020 as the first installment of the remake trilogy, has surpassed 7 million copies sold worldwide, as announced by Square Enix.

In FFVII Rebirth, the piano mini-game enables players to collect sheet music and try playing songs as Cloud. The sheet music ranges from easy to extremely challenging, featuring music from the game.
